EthStorage Garners Spotlight as Speakers and Panelists for EthToronto and EthWomen
From August 15th to 16th, the EthStorage team took part in two prominent events: EthToronto and EthWomen, both hosted in Toronto, Canada. The team played a pivotal role in these gatherings by delivering insightful presentations on EthStorage and engaging in panel discussions centered around collaborations within the Web3 landscape.
ETHToronto took place from August 13 to 16, 2023, as a part of the fifth annual Blockchain Futurists Conference, which is Canada’s largest blockchain event, boasting more than 8,000 attendees. This year introduced the launch of ETHWomen, a hackathon on and compete with a focus on women participants and inclusivity.
EthStorage Presented at EthToronto on ‘EthStorage- Scaling Ethereum Storage via Layer 2 and Data Availability’
This presentation occurred on the afternoon of the 16th within the Purple Room, situated on the first floor of the main venue. The EthStorage team adeptly communicated strategies for achieving substantial reductions in data storage costs, even to the extent of 1/1000th the conventional Ethereum storage expenses.
Simultaneously, the team demonstrated EthStorage’s ability to elevate storage capacity to the Petabyte scale. Distinguished from other EVM rollups and decentralized storage solutions, EthStorage’s capacity to handle not only static but also dynamic and hot data was underscored, showcasing its versatility for various applications including dynamic websites with multi-user engagement. Furthermore, the team highlighted EthStorage’s seamless integration into the Ethereum ecosystem, enabling convenient use of existing Ethereum tools and facilitating storage cost payments using Ethereum.
Furthermore, the presentation introduced the web3:// access protocol (ERC-4804), enabling the decentralized browsing of data. This innovative protocol allows for the retrieval of decentralized data stored across various blockchains in a completely decentralized manner, without the need for third-party trust, such as through protocols like http:// or ipfs://.
Notably, EthStorage has received two grants from the Ethereum Foundation for data availability sampling research and EthStorage-related studies. Additionally, the technical introduction of EthStorage earned the team first place in the Edcon Super Demo 2023 competition.
Participation in the EthWomen Panel Discussion: ‘Collaborative Success in Web3: From Building Effective Teams to Finding Your Ideal Role’
On the morning of the 16th, the EthStorage team’s Jamie participated as a panelist in the EthWomen panel discussion held at the Nakamoto Stage. The panel discussion was themed ‘Collaborative Success in Web3: From Building Effective Teams to Finding Your Ideal Role.’ The discussion was moderated by Liza Horowits, the Chief Technology Marketing Officer of Omnia. Joining Jamie on the panel were Sarah Martin from Circle and Nataliya Hearn from CryptoChicks.
During the panel, each participant shared their perspective on defining Web3 and their vision of collaborative success. Discussions also encompassed women’s empowerment and the presentation of real-world examples illustrating the transformative potential of Web3.
Jamie, representing EthStorage, shed light on the significance of individual roles within the decentralized landscape of Web3. Emphasizing the importance of community roles, Jamie introduced ‘web3buidler.tech,’ a leading initiative led by EthStorage. This platform unites over two thousand developers in regular research and discussions. This kind of communities play a pivotal role in advancing the industry as its members continually study new trends, exchange diverse opinions and build together.
Additionally, Jamie highlighted her involvement in ‘Women in Web3 Korea,’ an initiative she founded and leads. This initiative aims to create numerous opportunities for more women and diverse talents, as well as individuals from the realm of Web2, to engage with Web3 seamlessly and comfortably. Jamie noted that it is the responsibility of existing leaders within the Web3 sector to foster an environment where these opportunities flourish.
Despite its early morning scheduling, the panel attracted a substantial number of women who gathered to listen, engage in networking, and participate in meaningful discussions.
This event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about EthStorage within the Canadian region. It allowed us to establish connections with industry experts from the North American sector and lay the foundation for potential collaborations in the future. Looking ahead, EthStorage remains committed to its global engagement strategy, aiming to actively participate in a variety of international events. Through these platforms, we will continue to showcase EthStorage’s technology and applications, articulate future directions, and develop an array of practical use cases. Our intention is to actively involve developers and stakeholders, fostering a dynamic ecosystem that propels EthStorage’s growth and impact.
