EthStorage’s Remarkable Engagements at EthCC Paris 2023
EthCC 2023, held from July 17th to 20th in Paris, brought together blockchain enthusiasts, industry leaders, and innovators from around the world. EthStorage team showcased its cutting-edge solutions and fostered valuable connections within the Ethereum community.
Throughout the event, EthStorage actively participated in multiple events, including four insightful presentations and numerous side events. Let’s delve into the highlights of EthStorage’s participation at EthCC 2023.
Presentation Highlights
Speak at EthCC Main Event: Introducing Web3:// Access Protocol (July 19th)
EthStorage took the stage in Saint Victor room at EthCC’s main building to deliver an engaging session on the Web3:// Access Protocol. Attendees, including developers, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, were intrigued by EthStorage’s comprehensive approach as it addresses the issue of decentralized data being retrieved in a centralized way. EthStorage team introduced ‘web3:// Access Protocol’ which enables users to access and render any content on the decentralized network.
Introduction to Web3:// Access Protocol
The web3:// access protocol is an HTTP-like URL, but instead of locating centralized resources hosted by a server, it locates decentralized resources hosted by smart contracts. It is also defined as ERC-4804. This protocol was proposed by the EthStorage team and was finalized in February 2023. The protocol allows users to access objects on the decentralized network directly without going through a 3rd party such as GoDaddy.
The team also presented different application cases of web3://, such as on-chain NFTs, decentralized Blogger/Dropbox/Email/Github/Craigslist, which are already live on the testnet. Additionally, they introduced interesting experiments using web3://, including Vitalik’s blog upload.
To access EVM with web3://, there are three ways: 1) gateway (current gateway: w3eth.io), which supports most major blockchains like Optimism, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Base, Scroll+, 2) Google Chrome extension, and 3) native browser. R3AL WORLD (July 16th)
A day before EthCC officially commenced, EthStorage delivered a thought-provoking presentation on Web3 Access Protocol at R3AL WORLD.
R3al World is a collaborative series of global events. It was hosted by the IoTeX Team , SamsungNEXT and Eclipse. The topics included DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), AI, Web3 Infras, and more.
In this session, EthStorage team highlighted the importance of the Web3:// Access Protocol and discussed its applications.
OpenBuild Hackerhouse: Empowering A Trustless Future (July 18th):
EthStorage’s technical lead, Qiang, delivered a talk at OpenBuild Hackerhouse, which was co-hosted by Generative Ventures and Foresight X and sponsored by EthStorage during EthCC Paris Week.
At the hackerhouse, Qiang delivered a presentation on EthStorage, explaining its role as a storage layer2 with Ethereum layer1. He also introduced Web3URL and emphasized its significance in achieving a completely decentralized Web3 ecosystem. During the talk, Qiang demonstrated how to access dApps built on Web3URL using both the Chrome plugin and a standalone web3 browser, both of which were developed by members of the community.
The event provided a relaxed atmosphere where tech enthusiasts could exchange ideas and experiences. EthStorage shared its journey, exchanged insights with fellow participants, and proudly sponsored the event, reinforcing its commitment to fostering innovation within the blockchain space.
EthVC — Unveiling EthStorage’s Vision (July 17th)
EthVC, a flagship event at EthCC, selected EthStorage as one of the 30 startups set to pitch before a panel of over 50 venture capital judges. These 30 startups were selected for their pioneering contributions and potential in shaping the future.
The presentation showcased the team’s dedication to solving the decentralized storage issue and rendering content on a decentralized network. This platform allowed EthStorage to gain exposure to an array of potential investors and partners, setting the stage for impactful future collaborations.
Side Events and Networking
Beyond the team’s presentations, EthStorage actively participated in various side events throughout EthCC 2023.
